Privacy policy
1. Controller
The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
Deep Ink Ventures GmbHSolmsstraße 11
10961 Berlin – Kreuzberg
Email: admin@deep-ink.ventures
2. General information
We take the protection of your personal data seriously and treat it confidentially in line with the statutory data protection regulations (GDPR, BDSG) and this privacy policy. It applies to the use of the Space to Settle platform and all related services.
3. Hosting and server log files
When you visit our website, your browser automatically transmits information to our hosting provider's server, which is stored in log files: IP address, date and time of the request, amount of data transferred, source/referrer, URL of the requested page, the browser used and, where applicable, the operating system.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing a technically reliable and secure website). The data is deleted after a maximum of 30 days, unless security-related events require longer retention.
4. Cookies and consent banner
We use technically necessary cookies to ensure that the website functions correctly (e.g. to remember your language and cookie selection). These cookies are required on the basis of § 25(2) no. 2 TTDSG and do not require consent.
Optional cookies (e.g. for reach measurement or analytics) are only set if you have explicitly consented via our cookie banner (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TTDSG). You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by reopening the cookie settings via the link in the footer.
5. Registration and user account
When you create a user account, we process the master data you provide (e.g. name, email address, details of your professional activity or business, role as landlord or tenant). For tenants acting commercially or freelance, we verify the stated activity or — where available — the commercial register entry; for landlords, we verify proof of ownership or letting authorisation for the offered apartment.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of the user agreement). The data is stored for the duration of the contractual relationship and deleted once the statutory retention periods have expired (in particular § 257 HGB, § 147 AO).
6. Apartment listings and contract handling
We process the data provided for an apartment (address, amenities, rental terms, Mietspiegel basis). When a contract is concluded between a landlord and a tenant, we process the data of both parties needed for the contract. Details of the intended part-commercial use are processed only to the extent required to initiate and structure the tenancy.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR and Article 6(1)(c) GDPR (fulfilment of legal obligations under tenancy law). Rental agreements and related documents are stored for the duration of the statutory retention periods.
7. Contacting us
If you contact us by email or via a contact form, your details are stored to handle your enquiry. The data is not shared without your consent. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in handling your enquiry).
8. Recipients and processors
We engage carefully selected service providers to operate the platform (hosting, email delivery, payment processing). To the extent that they process personal data on our behalf, this is done on the basis of a data processing agreement pursuant to Article 28 GDPR. Transfers to third countries only take place where an adequate level of data protection is ensured (e.g. via standard contractual clauses).
9. Your rights
You have the right to access (Article 15 GDPR), rectification (Article 16 GDPR), erasure (Article 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR), data portability (Article 20 GDPR) and to object to processing (Article 21 GDPR). You can withdraw any consent at any time with effect for the future.
To exercise your rights, an informal message to admin@deep-ink.ventures is sufficient.
10. Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin, Germany (www.datenschutz-berlin.de).
11. Changes to this privacy policy
We reserve the right to update this privacy policy so that it always meets current legal requirements or reflects changes to our services. The new version will then apply to your next visit.
